What we can print
Functional plastic parts printed by FDM, in-house in Christchurch, up to large format. Here is what that covers, and how to tell us when a part needs more than the standard settings.
Printers and build volume
Parts are printed on FDM (fused deposition modelling) printers in our Christchurch workshop, large-format machines included.
Largest single piece: 350 × 350 × 340 mm.
The quoter checks each material's own size limit when you upload. A part larger than the build volume can be split into pieces and joined after printing: tell us and we will suggest where.
Layer heights
- Low: 0.3 mm layers
- Standard: 0.2 mm layers
- High: 0.12 mm layers
- Extra high: 0.08 mm layers
Chosen in the quote panel. Finer layers give a smoother surface and take longer to print; for a working part, geometry and orientation matter more to strength than layer height.

Files we accept
STL, 3MF, OBJ, STEP, up to 100 MB per file. Several parts can go in one .zip. No model? Send a sketch, a photo or a drawing with a design request.
How parts are checked
Every file gets an automated manufacturability check before printing.
Critical dimensions? Tell us in the order notes and we'll confirm what's achievable before printing.
Lead times
- Normal, 5–7 working days
- Urgent, 2–4 working days
- Very urgent, 1–2 working days
Chosen in the quote panel, which shows the lead time for each option before you pay. Large orders are priced as an estimate, and we confirm the volume price and lead time within one working day.
